Showreel Studio Help

You cannot sign in

Why a sign-in fails or is refused, and what to do about it.

Signing in opens a browser, where you sign in with Google. Here is what the common problems mean.

"You cannot sign in here yet"

The browser shows this page with the reason:

  • You were removed from your organisation. It says your email was removed, and to ask one of its owners to invite you again. See Invite people.
  • Your organisation admits only invited people. It says the organisation admits only the people it invites, and to ask one of its owners to invite you. See Joining by domain.

"That code has expired"

A sign-in from the terminal lasts ten minutes. If you take longer, the browser says the code has expired and the terminal says "the sign-in code expired". Run showreel login again.

The code does not match

When you sign in from the terminal, the browser shows the code your terminal printed. Continue only if you started the sign-in yourself, on your own computer, and the codes match. If someone sent you the link, close the page: anyone who sent it would get your account.

"Your sign-in has expired"

A Mac's sign-in lasts 30 days. Sign in again:

showreel login

"sign-in check failed; try again" or "google sign-in failed"

Google's sign-in did not complete. Reload the page and try again. Check the browser allows cookies for the sign-in page.

You land in the wrong organisation

Your organisation is chosen from your email when you first sign in. If you signed in with the wrong address, or before you were invited, ask an owner of the right organisation to invite you, and an owner of the other one to remove you first. See How organisations work.

The web app asks "Switch account?"

The browser is signed in as one account and the link you opened signs in as another. Choose which one to use. See Open the web app from your Mac.
