How organisations work
Every account belongs to an organisation, set up from your email domain the first time you sign in.
Everything you make in the web app belongs to an organisation, not to one person: recordings, links, kits, audiences, own voices, usage and the licence. Everyone in the organisation can see its recordings and links.
Your organisation is set when you first sign in
Showreel Studio looks at your email address:
- A company address, such as
jo@northlight.example.com. The first person from that domain to sign in creates the organisation, named after the domain, and becomes its owner. Colleagues who sign in later with the same domain join it as members, unless it only admits invited people. See Joining by domain. - A personal address, from a public provider such as Gmail, Outlook or iCloud. You get a personal organisation of your own, named after your email. Nobody joins it by sharing the provider; only people you invite can join.
- An invitation decides first. If an owner or admin invited you, you join their organisation when you first sign in, whatever your email address. See Invite people.
One organisation per account
An account belongs to one organisation. To move someone who is already in another organisation, an owner or admin there removes them first; then your invitation lets them join yours.
Where you see it
The web app's header shows your email and your organisation's name. The Organisation page shows everyone in it, their roles, the licence and the last 30 days of use. Everyone can read it; owners and admins change it.
