Your licence

Attach your organisation's licence key, check its status, and what stops working without one.

Showreel Studio needs two things to work: you are signed in, and your organisation holds a good licence. The licence belongs to the organisation, so an owner attaches it once for everyone.

Attach the licence

An owner runs this once, on any signed-in machine:

showreel licence attach SRS-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX

It says "key attached to" your organisation, then "licence ok". A key belongs to one organisation: the first to attach it holds it.

Check its status

This shows your account, your organisation, whether the licence is good, when it was last checked, and the last 30 days of use. To ask the service now rather than wait:

In the web app, the Account page shows Good or Not active with the reason. The Organisation page's Licence card shows how many people it covers and when it runs until. Owners and admins see the whole key; others see its last four characters.

How often it is checked

Each machine asks the service once a day and keeps the answer. If the service cannot be reached, the last good answer stands for seven days, with a warning saying how many days are left.

Without a good licence

On a Mac, every command except help, doctor, init, login, service and licence stops with the reason, such as "Licence: no licence key on the organisation".
In the web app you can still sign in, but publishing, cloud recording and recording again are refused, and some pages, such as Kits, show the reason instead.
Links you already published keep playing.

If attaching fails

"only an owner of the organisation can attach its licence": ask an owner.
"unknown licence key": check the key for typing mistakes.
"that licence belongs to another organisation; ask Showreel Studio to move it": the key is attached elsewhere.

An expired licence says so, with the date it ended; a revoked one says it was revoked. Contact Showreel Studio about either.
