Edit a deck
Change a deck's slides in the editor, with each slide shown as it will look while you type.

The deck editor shows the slides down the side, the selected slide in the middle exactly as it will look (updated as you type), and its words in plain fields on the right.
Before you start
- A deck: Make a deck.
In the app
- Open Decks and click a deck, or Edit on its card.
- Click a slide in the list on the left.
- On the Slide panel, change its words in the fields. Each part of the slide has its own field, and lists grow with Add.
- To add a picture, click Add a picture beside Screenshot (or Still) and choose a PNG or JPEG from your Mac.
- Click Save at the top, or press ⌘S.
Working with slides
- Add a slide at the foot of the list adds one after the selected slide, of the type you choose.
- The type menu at the top of the Slide panel changes a slide's type, keeping its heading and paragraphs.
- ↑ and ↓ move a slide; Duplicate copies it; Remove deletes it.
- ‹ and › under the slide step through the deck.
- Edit as JSON, at the foot of the Slide panel, shows the slide's raw settings; click Apply after changing them.
The slide types

| Title | The opening: the title and one sentence. |
| Statement | One idea: a heading, two or three paragraphs and the line to remember. |
| Journey | How something works, in four or five numbered steps. |
| Options | Choices side by side, each with its trade. |
| Screen | A screenshot with the story beside it. Most decks are mostly these. |
| Film | A film's frame, large, linking to where it plays. |
| Grid of items | What is missing or what changed, as short items. |
| Checklist | A checklist scored against, with a caveat. |
| Comparison | Scores side by side. |
| Voices | Three or four reactions or quotes. |
| Plan | The build plan, with what is already settled. |
| Decisions | What the reader has to decide. Usually the close. |
The Deck panel
- Write it from the repository: rewrite the slides from the app's code, optionally for an audience. Fill in Repository and About, then click Write the deck.
- From a film: choose a film and click Replace the slides.
- Delete this deck removes it with its pictures and outputs.
In the terminal or Claude Code
The deck is the file decks/<deck>/slides.json, with its pictures in decks/<deck>/png/. Edit it in any editor, or ask Claude in Claude Code, which uses the showreel-deck skill. Build it afterwards:
